Orphanage Mehan Orphanage
Wajia is a from a remote village of Nuristan province. She had a difficult childhood in Nuristan. Wajia’s father is disabled and her mother is a housewife. Actually, her family couldn’t support their children at all. When the village became controlled by Taliban, the warned the people to leave the village. But, because Wajia’s family was not able to leave the home, the Taliban attacked their home and took the home, tools and some money. At that time, they didn’t have anything to eat. One of her relatives brought Wajia to AFCECO orphanage and her siblings stayed with other relatives. Now, she is very happy at the orphanage and she is studying at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music. She plays Clarinet and she is a member of the Afghan Women’s Orchestra (Zohra).
