Orphanage Mehan Orphanage
Rabia lives in an impoverished peasant family in Badakhshan, a place in a far remote northern area of Afghanistan where according to UNICEF has the highest child mortality rate in the word. The family make their living from working on a field belongs to a landlord who has given them a small mud house inside the field. Rabia and her siblings work at the landlord’s house, where they are believed to be often abused. AFCECO visited the family and found Rabia a very smart and intelligent girl who wants to join Mehan Orphanage in Kabul.
