Our organization, AFCECO (Afghan Child Education and Care Organization) has been caring for and educating children for over 13 years. These Afghan children are from different ethnic groups and have all faced extreme poverty, displacement, and violence. In our orphanages, everyone is equal and are taught to take care of one another. We focus on health and education to help overcome divisions of race, religion and language.
Today, we face extremely difficult financial hurdles that we must overcome soon in 2017. Sponsorship has declined and we lost some critical grants this year. In addition, cost of living and providing adequate security has skyrocketed in Kabul. This includes protecting the children from groups in Afghanistan that resist liberal arts education and equal rights for girls. As a result, our deficit is over $175,000 for the next year. We urgently need to raise at least $85,000 by this January to pay for our immediate costs including annual building leasing costs for our orphanages.
We need your help today to keep our orphanages operating and children safe. With your support, we can help our children rise above all the adversity in their lives to remain determined, hopeful and hard working.
